Sognefjorden king among the fjords

It is the longest / 205 km / and at the same time the deepest / 1308m / fjord in Norway. Powerful and fascinating picturesque with other shoulders – notches, small bays. It takes at least a week for a complete exploration of all the nearby monuments, churches, hills and waterfalls. Ideal is to combine a kayak with a tour and a ferry or boat.

Here and there the industrial city (Ytre Oppedal, Vadheim) appears, which means not only a typical wooden architecture, but also a harbor, a factory, apple orchards, a pine grove. The campsites here with equipped cottages are definitely not an emergency.

Nærøyfjord – the glacier fjord, together with Geirangerfjord is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. What does it mean? My breath is personal. Bergen is about three hours drive by car from Sognefjord, but it’s basically a man not to handle that. It is inappropriate to cross Norway without stopping as if on the highway. The highways are not even here.
